RHA 2, 3, 4 and Family

Treating facial wrinkles, creases, and folds when they have become more pronounced can be quite difficult, especially when you want the results to look subtle and natural.
Luckily, RHA® fillers can make your skin plumper, radiant, and supple – while ensuring a completely natural look.
Read on to learn everything you need to know about the fillers that form the RHA® collection.

What Is RHA®?

The RHA® line is a collection of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers manufactured by the Swiss company Teoxane which specializes in making HA fillers. Besides restoring age-related volume loss, HA molecules attract and bind more water to your skin giving it a plumper and rejuvenated look.

The uniquely formulated RHA® fillers use long hyaluronic acid chains and “preserved network” technology, which results in a more natural appearance while the face is at motion and while it’s at rest.

Different Fillers from the RHA® Collection

There are 4 components of the RHA® collection, including RHA® 1, 2, 3, 4. However, only RHA® 2, 3, and 4 have been FDA-approved for use in the U.S.

RHA® 2, the most flexible filler of all, can help treat facial wrinkles that appear in the upper part of your face, such as moderate glabellar lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet.

RHA® 3 is the treatment of choice for severe facial wrinkles appearing in the mid-face such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. It can also be used to treat sunken cheeks enhancing the contours of your face.

RHA® 4 on the other hand, is the best for restoring volume in the broader areas of the face, treating deep wrinkles and severe folds. RHA® can also provide you with a more contoured face, chin, and jawline.

What Happens During The Treatment?

The treatment is quick and takes anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Usually, it is carried out under anesthesia to avoid any discomfort.

During the procedure, we inject RHA® using a blunt-tipped cannula. However, the depth of the needle may vary depending on the filler.

For example, RHA® 2 is injected into the middle layers of your skin, RHA® 3 is injected relatively deeper into the skin, whereas RHA® 4 is administered even deeper into the skin to achieve the desired results.

Since the procedure is minimally invasive, it requires little to no downtime and you can go back to your daily routine as soon as you leave the office.

How Soon Can You See The Results?

You can see initial improvements almost immediately after the procedure. However, there may be some swelling and redness (that usually subsides within a day or two), so it may take up to two weeks for the final results to appear.

Are The Results Permanent?

Fillers from the RHA® line may last longer as compared to other dermal fillers, but these are not permanent. Their longevity can vary from person to person depending upon how quickly your body metabolizes it.

On average, RHA® fillers can last for around 15 months. After this time, you might need follow-up treatments to keep your skin looking plump, smooth, and rejuvenated.

If you’re looking to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and look years younger than your actual age, RHA® fillers can produce remarkable results that are subtle and natural-looking.
